Marisa Wengeler

Marisa Wengeler is a Manager for Democratic Resilience and Prevention at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) in Berlin. Her work focuses on strengthening democratic resilience by supporting different groups in better understanding how digital platforms work and the dynamics that shape online debates. She develops programmes and conducts workshops for a range of audiences, including employees in Germany and local politicians, who are increasingly confronted with online hate and disinformation. She is particularly interested in political polarisation, the role of social media in shaping public debate, and how political actors use these platforms to mobilise. Before joining ISD, she worked with several publishing houses on subscription and audience engagement strategies. She holds an M.A. in Journalism and Communication Science from Freie Universität Berlin.
