Hager Eissa
Hager Eissa is a Sudanese public speaker and activist specializing in democracy, human rights, women's empowerment, education, and conflict resolution where she has been actively involved in peace and reconciliation projects in her hometown. In 2024 she Co-Founded the Voices of Freedom, which amplifies civilian voices during the ongoing conflict and shares the stories of political prisoners and activists.
In addition to her grassroots work, Hager is part of several prominent organizations. She is an Obama Leader 2023 at the Obama Foundation, and a McCain Global Leader 2024 at the McCain Institute and was also named among the 100 Under 40 Most Influential People of African Descent in 2023. She is currently a Leadership Council member at the World Liberty Congress and a Young Leaders Network member at the Axel Springer Freedom Foundation, in addition to several other international platforms where she represents Sudan and its pro-democracy movements. previously she has served as Global Peace Ambassador and Austria country director for the Global Peace Chain, and as an ambassador for One Young World and the World Literacy Foundation.
Her work is driven by one belief: those most affected by injustice should tell their own stories.
