Gianni Matheja

Gianni Matheja is a 21 year old student at the Free University of Berlin. Alongside his studies, he creates content under the name “Gianni studiert,” producing educational satirical content for a young audience across universities. His work focuses on making complex political and social issues accessible, engaging, and relevant to everyday life through humor and creativity. Gianni has experience in television, radio, and digital media. After graduating from school in 2023, he became an intern for Caren Miosga in the ARD. Later, he worked as a television reporter for ZDF, and as a radio host at rbb. He also writes about university life in his own column “Gianni studiert” at ZEITCampus. Gianni has described his mission as mobilizing young people to take action and representing them in a media landscape that still sidelines the perspectives of students, alumni and other members of Gen Z. He is a scholar of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.
