
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Reuter
Professor Ulrich Reuter is President of the German Savings Banks Association. After working
in administrative positions, he studied law and obtained his doctorate in 1993. He initially
worked as a lawyer and then as a senior executive at Deutsche Bank. Reuter was a full-time
Professor of Public Law and European Business Law at the Aschaffenburg University of
Applied Sciences from 2001 to 2002 and has been an honorary professor there ever since.
From 2002 to 2020, Reuter was elected District Administrator of the district of
Aschaffenburg. After serving on the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Aschaffenburg-Alzenau
and the Savings Banks Association of Bavaria, he was President of the Savings Banks
Association of Bavaria from 2021 to the end of 2023. In January 2024, he took office as
President of the German Savings Banks Association and, in this role, he is also Chairman of
the Board of Directors of Deka-Bank and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BSK 1818
